If there's one thing I take pride in as a coach - and really as a person - it's that I virtually never just speak from education. I speak from experience. 

I treat myself as the ultimate guinea pig, doing countless hours of research and then experimenting until I find the diamond in the rough that I can then confidently share with my friends, family, and clients.

Ninja Air Fryer

I resisted getting an air fryer for ages because I thought 'C'mon, how is it all that different from having an oven??' Wildly different. It takes 3 minutes to heat up, can perfectly roast cauliflower in 5 minutes instead of 20, and is probably my most-used kitchen appliance.

It even has a resident spot on my small countertop which says a lot. I like this Ninja model because the nonstick is ceramic (I wanted to stay away from more toxic non-stick surfaces like teflon).

IQ Bar

This has been my go-to protein bar when I'm in a pinch. It is 180 calories so sometimes I'll just eat half and save some for later. But it tastes great, has a nice texture (not the stick-to-your-teeth texture of some clean protein bars out there), has 12 grams of protein, only 3 net carbs due to its 8 grams of fiber, has only 1 gram of sugar, and it has a fairly clean ingredients list:

Castor Oil Pack

We did an entire episode on the benefits of a castor oil pack which you can find here, but the long and short is this was the year of the liver for me. Korean Skincare

This was another absolute game-changer for my skin. I had heard for years that Korean skincare is the way to go but I had NO IDEA the difference! Here are my favorite products I've found (ps I've cross-referenced to make sure these are a 3 or lower in the Environmental Working Group app and to make sure there are no pore clogging ingredients):

  • Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun Rice + Probiotics SPF 50: I have been on the hunt for a good sunscreen for ages. But for the longest time, every one I tried went on fine at first, but by the end of the day my makeup always separated and looked like shit. This is the first time I have ever found one I truly love and am happy to wear every single day. It's non-greasy and goes on like a moisturizer. And it plays so nicely with my makeup! Bonus points for its probiotic content. I've been doing a ton of research lately on the skin microbiome and how so many acne-fighting products kill off the good bacteria along with the bad, essentially doing the same damage to our skin that taking long-term antibiotics does to our gut! 
  • COSRX Snail Mucin Serum: This repeatedly showed up on 'best of' lists. This light-weight serum is great for repairing dark spots, calming acne-prone skin, and providing a clean-feeling hydration. I easily put it on under any other skincare and feels like I have nothing on! 

Acupressure Mat 

My sister-in-law got this for me for Christmas last year and I'm so glad she did! Basically, it's a mat that you lie on with all these tiny little acupressure points that help increase blood flow, thereby improving circulation, muscle recovery, relaxation, and aiding in neck and back pain relief.

Bed Head A Wave We Go

If you follow me on Instagram you probably have seen that more often than not my hair has a beachy wave to it. That is NOT my natural hair. In fact, I've always struggled with my hair. I have a lot of it but it's very fine, it tends to fall extremely flat, and while majority of it is straight, it gets crimped and frizzy along my hairline. Plus, if I blow dry it straight it'll look good for about 2 hours before getting greasy and stringy looking. Not a cute look.
